Are you a Christian? If not do you believe in Karma? Well then, do you believe in trying to help in this world more than you hurt? Most of us will answer yes to at least one of those questions. However, I can tell you as we approach 2018 it's not a very far journey we have made as human beings in life. In fact I would argue that the witch hunts of the 1400 - 1700 were actually just as brutal and sinful as the things that are going on in today' time. At first thought I was going to say because of the internet. However, I believe the internet is nothing more than a tool. So I will not blame the internet I will blame the hearts of people, the people that deliberately slander and falsely lie about another person online is no better than one that shoots, kills or wounds another random individual in a mass shooting.
Reputation versus Wealth
Scripture tells us it is better to have a solid reputation over wealth. The problem is that with the age of the internet and those that are willing to pull the trigger to destroy a life they have no respect for life, reputation or a persons personal privacy.
It is a sad existence for a victim of these trolls because everything is hidden from view except the story the troll's post... and to respond only gives more credibility to the article in the search engines. You would think Google would tire of the relentless sites that allow anonymous sources to slander another persons name. The truth is it has become really big business and is called "Reputation Management" or "Branding" and if you have the money.... you can jump on that bandwagon and make yourself look a shiny polished diamond. Which that too is based on paying 'search engine optimization' experts that do not Know you to post articles and fake news releases about you so that it will look as if you are in the running for the Nobel peace prize!
Johnny Yarbrough Experience
Oh yes, I have had my experience with a business competitor. It's usually always the same type of story. A competitor, an ex partner, ex employee it is someone that wants to destroy you from a cowardly distance. Sometimes it is as simple as a past customer that disagreed with something and in anger they want to get the story out and of course that story is going to reflect that one view and during the writing of that story they will usually start to feel like human waste so they give the victim a little credit for something and that makes the story more believable and makes them feel like they gave a fair take. So my question is simple, If they were so right then why not go to small claims court so they can at least get their money back? Too much effort? Maybe that story just is not what it is cracked up to be?
We make the world we live in... why do we continue to hurt and destroy? For a great article read http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/16/living/feat-public-shaming-ronson/index.htmlwww.cnn.com/2015/04/16/living/feat-public-shaming-ronson/index.html
